Beyond the Basics: Plant Operations – Calibrations & Verifications

Wednesday, October 27, 2021 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM   iCalendar Eastern Standard Time

Asphalt plants play a critical role in meeting the stringent material requirements needed to construct asphalt pavements that will provide long service lives and good performing, cost effective pavements for the traveling public. Ensuring the plant is operating in calibration is important to producing more consistent and on specification asphalt mixtures. Additionally, if the plant is not operating within calibration it can lead to increased waste, increased fuel consumption, and other cost inefficiencies. This webinar will focus on the keys to keep the plant operating at peak performance and within calibration.

Takeaways:
1.) Understand plant operational indicators (scale errors, etc.) that require additional attention
2.) Learn about asphalt plant calibration and verification procedures and frequencies
3.) Learn methods to complete verification procedures as part of the asphalt plant’s standard operating procedures

Professional engineers (PEs) who register and attend the entire webinar as an individual will be awarded 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). APA/NAPA’s webinar program awards PDH credits only to the registered individual, and not to other members of a group that view the webinar together. To be eligible for the credits, individuals must remain signed in for the entire webinar, including for any question and answer session following the presentations.

APA/NAPA will report credits earned to the Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP). Complaints about registered providers may be sent to RCEP, 1015 15th Street, NW, 8th Floor, Washington, D.C., 20005.
